National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has stated that former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, could decide spontaneously on his next political move ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In an interview from 2:52 aired by Synfomi TV, he explained that Peter Obi remains a member of the Labour Party but did not rule out the possibility of him joining another political party that can effectively help actualize his vision for Nigeria.

He said: “At the moment, Peter Obi is a member of the Labour Party. In the next minute, he can belong to any political party that can actualize his dream and make the people believe that he is up to revitalize support and make this country a better country.”

Tanko also defended his position that the Northern region should wait until 2031 before contesting the presidency. According to him, if Peter Obi gains widespread support and is elected in 2027, he would place significant emphasis on agriculture in the North as a means of generating more revenue for the country.

His words: “I believe and strongly too that Peter Obi in politics, you look for those who can advance your present status and make your life better. I believe Peter Obi can do that, he can transform the misfortune of the Northerners into a better Northern state.

He is somebody who believes in Agriculture and we in the North, majority of what we do is agriculture. Imagining the arable land in the Northern part of this country which far outweighs even the Southeast or Southwest can be turned into a money-making machine. It can make money more than what we are getting in oil.” View, More,
