According to a report from his official Facebook Account on Tuesday, July 29, Militant leader and Niger Delta activist Asari Dokubo has issued a strong warning to the National Assembly, declaring that the people of the Niger Delta will never submit to any form of subjugation under the Sultanate or external authority.

In a recent address, Dokubo stated, “We will not serve any Sultan. The Niger Delta is our land, and we will never bow to anyone who seeks to impose their will on us.” He emphasized the region’s long-standing struggle for self-determination and resource control, reiterating that the people would resist any attempt to undermine their autonomy.

Dokubo accused the federal government of favoring certain regions while neglecting the Niger Delta, despite its contributions to the nation’s economy through oil production. “They take our resources and leave us in poverty, then expect us to accept domination. That will never happen,” he said.

The former militant leader also criticized the National Assembly, alleging that lawmakers have failed to address systemic marginalization. “If they think they can use legislation to suppress us, they are mistaken. We will defend our freedom by any means necessary,” he warned.
