A survivor of a TSL bus crash in Lagos, Olasehinde James Oluwaseun has shared a harrowing account of his near-death experience, revealing a moment of divine intervention and a nurse’s shock that he was still alive.

In an emotional interview on Sahara TV, Oluwaseun recounted the moments after the crash, where he lay critically injured and close to death.

According to Oluwaseun, following the accident, he was almost abandoned at the hospital before he finally received care. His condition was so dire that he believed he was not expected to survive.

The most shocking revelation came when he regained consciousness. “As I just woke up, I saw the nurse crying. I asked what happened?”. Oluwaseun recalled. The nurse’s response was a mix of disbelief and relief: “You are still alive?. You are still taking?, because the saturation has dropped to zero.”

This phrase, “the saturation has dropped to zero,” highlights the severity of his injuries. Medical experts explain that a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) level of zero is typically incompatible with life.

The saturation level measures the amount of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin in the blood, and a reading of zero indicates a complete lack of oxygen, which would cause irreversible brain damage or death within minutes.

Oluwaseun’s survival, therefore, defies medical logic and serves as a powerful testament to the resilience of the human body and spirit.

His story has since resonated with many, drawing attention to the often-overlooked struggles of accident victims and the dedication of the healthcare workers who attend to them. His miraculous survival serves as a beacon of hope and a powerful reminder that even in the face of impossible odds, there can be a way out.
