Ann Kio Briggs, a member of the Rivers Elders Forum, has stated that when Rotimi Amaechi was a minister and Nyesom Wike was the governor of Rivers, Amaechi could not move in the state with motorcycle outriders because Wike would not have allowed it.

Speaking in an interview with AIT, Briggs said that now that Wike is no longer governor, he is not entitled to the motorcycle outriders he currently uses. She said that the rightful person entitled to such privileges is the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

In Briggs’ words: “When Amaechi was Minister and Wike was governor, Amaechi cannot come into River State and drive with motorcycle outriders, he could not do it. Wike would not have allowed him to do it and rightfully so. Wike is no longer a governor therefore he is not entitled to those outriders that he is using and yet Fubara has just looked at him and ignored him. The person that is entitled to those outriders is Governor Fubara and not former Governor Wike”
