Babatunde Fashola, the former Governor of Lagos State has explained that in 1999, anyone who wanted to build a house in Lagos had to go all the way to Abuja to get a permit.
In a report recently shared by The Sun, Fashola said the Lagos State government took the issue to court and won, making it easier for people in Lagos to get their building permits in Lagos. He also expressed his support for President Tinubu’s administration. He stated that important changes, like better wages and salaries for workers and the creation of state police, will become a reality under Tinubu’s leadership. State police would mean that each state in Nigeria could have its own police force, which could help improve security and law enforcement.
In Fashola’s words: “As at 1999, if you wanted to build a house in Lagos, you would go and get permit in Abuja. It was Lagos State government that went to court to stop it”…..Sée Móre
