According to Dailypost, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a notable figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has refuted allegations made by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, of orchestrating political unrest during his time as Minister of Transportation.

Wike alleged that Amaechi colluded with the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari to destabilize Rivers State, pointing to a period in which he faced extraordinary security challenges. He cited the deployment of 12 Commissioners of Police within three months and the sudden withdrawal of his security detail at 11:30 p.m. as signs of an intentional plot to undermine his leadership.

He also criticized Amaechi for remaining in Abuja and showing no concern for the chaos unfolding in Rivers at the time.

In response, Chief Eze issued a statement dismissing Wike’s accusations as baseless and described them as part of a broader pattern of deceit. “He represents the reality of a massively corrupt, totally dishonest, characteristically unstable, dangerously inept and failed leadership the country grapples with,” Eze said.

He portrayed Amaechi as a leader averse to violence and disorder, in contrast to Wike, whom he accused of instigating unrest and empowering non-state actors during his tenure as governor.

Eze referenced the 2015 general elections, alleging that widespread violence occurred under Wike’s administration, leading to numerous casualties and enduring trauma among affected families.

He also recalled the use of the former Rivers Police Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, whom Wike allegedly employed to foment instability before discarding him.

Additionally, Eze pointed to an attempt to impeach Amaechi using only five members of the State Assembly, which he claimed was in clear violation of the nation’s constitution.

On the financial front, Eze alleged that Amaechi, as minister, facilitated the release of funds to Wike, which were subsequently mismanaged and used to support what he called a fruitless presidential ambition.
