Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians against placing trust in the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, insisting that his rhetoric and policies pose a danger to both Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.

In a lengthy post shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Fani-Kayode praised recent breakthroughs in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism but used the moment to caution citizens against embracing what he described as Trump’s “dangerous posturing.”

Fani-Kayode commended the successful rescue of 24 female students abducted from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, alongside the recovery of all 33 worshippers kidnapped from a church in Eruku, Kwara State. He also welcomed the release of 50 out of 303 students abducted from St. Mary’s School in Papiri, Niger State.

He described the operations, carried out by the Armed Forces and security agencies under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, as “promising and noteworthy,” emphasising that they rekindled hope in the battle against terrorism. Still, he noted that the mission remains incomplete until all abducted Nigerians are brought home.

Turning sharply to global politics, Fani-Kayode rebuked President Trump for recently branding Nigeria a “disgraced country,” calling the statement insulting and misleading. He accused the U.S. leader of hypocrisy and brutality in foreign affairs, alleging that Trump has violated international norms through military actions that have resulted in civilian casualties abroad.

According to him, Nigerians who believe Trump is committed to defending Christians in Nigeria are uninformed and unintelligent, insisting that Trump’s approach to conflict shows no regard for human life.

“Anyone that believes that when Trump starts dropping bombs on the North that he will make a distinction between Christians and Muslims is a dullard,” he stated.

He warned that Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric toward Nigeria suggests an intent to demonise the nation and justify future aggression under the guise of defending persecuted Christians.

He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and rely on their own institutions rather than external powers, stressing that national security cannot be outsourced to foreign leaders with questionable motives. View, More,
