Alex Traiman, CEO of the Jerusalem News Service bureau, has said the level of damage inflicted on Iran’s strategic infrastructure during the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign is massive.

Speaking from Israel, Traiman claimed that more than 1,000 direct strikes have been carried out on key Iranian targets since the conflict began, describing the impact as extensive and highly precise.

He contrasted this with Iran’s response, saying its ballistic missile attacks have been largely uncoordinated and aimed at available targets rather than strategic ones.

Traiman also argued that the direction of the war was decided early, following a major Israeli strike that reportedly eliminated top figures in Iran’s leadership structure, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to him, this disrupted Iran’s command system and affected its military coordination.

He pointed to a drop in Iran’s missile launches as evidence, noting that while the country previously had the capacity to fire hundreds of missiles daily, it is now launching around 30 per day. Though still a threat, he described this as far below its earlier capability.

Traiman further highlighted damage to Iran’s oil infrastructure, describing widespread destruction and heavy smoke across affected areas, which he said has weakened the country’s economic base.

He dismissed claims that Iran is gaining the upper hand in the conflict, insisting such narratives are misleading. He added that officials like US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz have all maintained that Iran is facing significant setbacks in the war.
