During an interview with Channels Television, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, spoke about his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, and made bold claims about his educational background.
Wike said Amaechi first attended Rivers State University but could not pass. According to him, “Amaechi went to Rivers State University, he couldn’t pass, he went to the University of Port-hacourt.”
Wike questioned the quality of Amaechi’s education and even mentioned that the former governor claimed someone gave him a Rolls-Royce that he wasn’t using. “What kind of education do people have in Baze University?” Wike asked, referring to Amaechi’s comment about attending that institution.
He stressed that a person’s way of thinking often reflects their academic background. “Your thinking depends on how you graduated,” Wike said. He then pointed out that he, too, went to UniPort and was trained by top professors.
Wike insisted that no one could question his qualifications and education.
When the interviewer mentioned that Amaechi is also a lawyer, Wike responded with sarcasm, questioning at what age Amaechi became a lawyer. He also challenged Amaechi’s claim that someone gave him a luxury car.
“Who gave him? When did the person give him that?” Wike asked.
