All Progressives Congress chieftain, Samuel Danjuma has sharply criticized former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over his recent remarks urging Nigerians to vote out the APC, calling his comments hypocritical and politically self-serving.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV from 16:55, Danjuma questioned Amaechi’s credibility, pointing out his dramatic shift in stance after losing out in internal party power struggles.
“This was the same person who went on rally grounds and national TV telling us to vote out the PDP,” Danjuma stated. “And today, because you lost out along the line, the power play, you are now beginning to tell Nigerians that you are hungry.”
Danjuma accused Amaechi of inconsistency and desperation, suggesting that his recent criticism of the APC is rooted in personal disappointment rather than genuine concern for national progress. According to Danjuma, Amaechi’s public attacks reflect bitterness over not emerging as a central figure in the current administration.
“You can’t change your story every time you don’t get your way,” Danjuma said. “Nigerians are not fooled. They remember who said what and when.”
Amaechi, a former governor and influential figure in the APC’s rise to power in 2015, has in recent times voiced dissatisfaction with the party’s direction. However, Danjuma insists that criticism should come from a place of principle, not personal frustration.
