Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, criticized former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi for his recent comments about the Nigerian government.

According to report from DAILY POST, Olayinka questioned why Amaechi, who has spent 23 years in public office, would still complain about the state of the government. He highlighted Amaechi’s political history: eight years as Speaker, eight as governor, and seven as Minister, suggesting it is hypocritical to blame the current administration.

Olayinka noted that since 1999, Amaechi has only had two years out of government.

His comments followed Amaechi’s remarks during his 60th birthday celebration in Abuja, where he claimed that he and many Nigerians are experiencing hunger. Amaechi also mentioned that the opposition coalition could unseat President Bola Tinubu and criticized political infighting over resource distribution. He stated that Nigerian politicians lack innovative ideas, which contribute to ongoing disputes over the nation’s resources.

“After spending 23 years in government, Rotimi Amaechi is still blaming the government. 8 years as Speaker, 8 years as governor, and 7 years as Minister. Some people sha no get shame. Since 1999, Rotimi Amaechi has only been out of Govt for just TWO YEARS. Rotimi Amaechi said he is hungry, and you are supporting him because you don’t like those in govt now.”
