Hamas’ elite Al-Qassam Brigades declared that they destroyed three Israeli armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and their crews in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, amid the ongoing conflict between the Israeli regime and the Palestinian nationalist Sunni Islamist political organisation, known as Hamas, which has killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians.
Anadolu English reported on Sunday, July 27, 2025, that the resistance group Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades posted on their official X account that their fighters had planted two explosive devices inside the command compartments of two Israeli armoured personnel carriers, causing the vehicles to catch fire while their crews were inside. They also used a Yassin 150 rocket to target a third Zionist troop carrier.
The militants from the resistance organisation later saw the arrival of an Israeli military excavator, which buried the cars to put out the fire as a chopper landed to evacuate. They also revealed that the ambush took place in the Abasan al-Kabira area, east of Khan Younis.
President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog strongly supported the decision made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration, calling it a moral, operational, and political necessity. In another related development, the administration of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved localised humanitarian pauses in Gaza to facilitate aid delivery despite ongoing condemnation by some prominent world leaders and international organisations against the Israeli regime for its ongoing aggression in Gaza.
