According to a statement shared via a tweet on X by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during his meeting with the head and top officials of the Judiciary Branch on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Iran demonstrated its capability to respond forcefully to foreign aggression—particularly from the United States and its allies.
He referenced Iran’s recent missile attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a significant hub for American military operations in the region. Khamenei emphasized that the strike was not only a calculated response but also a powerful signal of Iran’s military reach.
According to him, “The center [Al Udeid Air Base] that was attacked by Iran was an extremely important US center in the region. The strike was a major blow, but it’s definitely possible to inflict an even greater blow on the US and others.”
Khamenei also reiterated that Iran’s posture in both diplomacy and warfare stems from strength, not desperation. He argued that Iran does not enter any confrontation from a position of weakness and has the tools—both military and ideological—to escalate further if provoked.
