A fresh controversy has emerged in Akwa Ibom as Pat Akpabio, sister-in-law to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, publicly launched fresh allegations against him, stirring political reactions across the state.

According to a report by Premium Times on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Pat took to Facebook on Friday, October 11, accusing Akpabio of being linked to unresolved killings during his time as governor. She warned that she would reveal more information if he failed to address her claims.

Pat, who is married to Ibanga Akpabio — the man credited with bringing Akpabio into state politics in the late 1990s — also accused the Senate President of neglecting his hometown, Ukana Ikot Ntuen, which she said has been without power for weeks despite his position.

In the video, she said, “When you finish, go home. This is your quit notice. Nigerians don’t know who you are. When they do, they’ll know you are a very wicked man.” She also advised President Bola Tinubu to be cautious in his relationship with Akpabio.

Responding through his spokesperson, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio said Pat should report any evidence to security agencies rather than using social media for political attacks. He described the Senate President as a humble family man and dismissed her claims as attention-seeking.

The video has reignited family and political tensions. Pat has vowed to challenge Akpabio in the 2027 senatorial election, while critics have called for investigations into past security issues in Akwa Ibom during his tenure as governor. See, More, Here>>>
