During an interview with Voice of the People TV from 6:56, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi criticised the idea of the United States sending forces to Nigeria to fight terrorists, arguing that such an action would undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty. He explained that every nation has the right to protect its own territory, and allowing foreign powers to intervene without limits could create more problems than solutions.

Gumi used a global example to show how serious foreign military interference can be. He said that if America were to announce an attack on Russia, Russia would instantly prepare its nuclear weapons because no powerful nation would allow another country to enter its territory under the excuse of protecting minorities or solving internal conflicts. According to him, this is how all nations defend their independence, and Nigeria should not be an exception.

He stressed that Nigeria can seek assistance from any country, but such support should come through cooperation, intelligence sharing, and partnership, not foreign boots on Nigerian soil. He also pointed to America’s involvement in the Gaza conflict, accusing the U.S. of supplying weapons that contributed to heavy casualties. He argued that the same approach should not be welcomed in Nigeria, as it could lead to unnecessary harm.

Gumi stated that no responsible government would allow a foreign nation with such a controversial record to carry out military operations within its borders.

In his words, “If America said it’s going to attack Russia, immediately Russia will get their nukes ready. They will never allow Americans to come into Russia.” View, More,
