It was a night Private Joshua of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria will never forget. He was on duty with his colleague, the late Barnabas Danlandi, when armed robbers attacked Unique Apartments in Katampe, Abuja, around 3:00 a.m. on September 29.

In a video shared by Arise News from 4:08, Joshua recalled that the robbers entered the estate by climbing through the fence. When they heard strange movements, Barnabas went to check what was happening. Moments later, gunshots rang out. “They shot him,” Joshua said quietly, still shaken by the memory.

He explained that Barnabas lay bleeding for more than an hour before help came. “After they left, I came out to check on him. When I met him, I tied his hands, then I began to shout for help. A resident came out and joined me. We begged anyone with a car key to help us take him to the hospital,” Joshua said.

As they cried for help, they noticed the late Arise TV presenter, Ms. Somtochukwu Christella, lying on the ground. “As we were shouting, we saw Sommie on the ground,” he added sadly.

According to Joshua, it took a long time before the police and residents came to their rescue. They finally got a car and rushed Barnabas to the hospital, while the police took Sommie in their vehicle. Unfortunately, neither victim survived.

Joshua said the incident has left him deeply traumatized, as he is just lucky to be alive. See, More, Here>>>
