During a gathering of APC South-South stakeholders, Tony Okocha, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, expressed strong disapproval of the rising coalition movements forming outside the ruling party. He reassured the party faithful that the APC in Rivers is prepared to confront and dismantle any alternative political arrangement, especially one allegedly supported by Rotimi Amaechi, a prominent indigene of the state.

He noted that Rivers State, once politically isolated, now has strong backing and leadership thanks to strategic alignments.
