Political commentator and social media influencer, Reno Omokri, has dismissed the emerging opposition coalition as unserious and disorganized, stating that one of its main drivers, Nasir El-Rufai, was once his client.
Speaking during a recent interview, Omokri said, “The main mover, the main talkative in this party is a guy called Nasir El-Rufai. I know him. He was my client when I ran a political consulting firm.”
Omokri questioned El-Rufai’s credibility and sincerity, revealing that the former Kaduna governor had earlier sought a ministerial appointment from President Tinubu. “He submitted his name to be a minister under the Tinubu administration. He went to the National Assembly to defend it,” Omokri said.
He continued, “He gave glowing speeches, he tried to be a minister. And he was rejected by the National Assembly. Only then did he now remember that Tinubu is a bad person.”
Omokri further dismissed the entire opposition bloc, describing it as a group fueled by bitterness. “ What we know is that this is a party built on grudge, grudge against Bola Tinubu. It is not a pro-Nigeria coalition, it is an anti-Tinubu coalition,” he said.
He added that the structure of the coalition is confused and lacking in ideological focus. “They don’t even know much about their coalition. There’s no clear documentary reference to it yet. The condition of that coalition is confusion,” he said.
Omokri also emphasized that the group lacks influence, claiming, “They don’t have any governor. The senators they have are free senators who are one leg in, one leg out of their party.”
He concluded by stating that no serious political force can be built on hatred. “Parties are built on ideology and principles, not on hate,” he said.
