In a candid interview on Daily Trust TV from 9:48, an Obidient General, Honourable Ikenna Azomchine expressed amusement at the suggestion that Abure, the Labour Party’s national chairman, is requesting adherence to party rules. Azomchine believes that Abure’s current position is a result of the rise of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s former presidential candidate.

Azomchine argued that the Obidient Network, comprising members from various political parties and backgrounds, is unified in support of Obi, who he described as a person destined for leadership.

He emphasized that the Obidient movement seeks only fairness and transparency in the Labour Party’s decision-making processes, highlighting the potential impact the movement could have on any political party it chooses to align with.

Azomchine expressed confidence in Peter Obi’s political future and called for a level playing field within the Labour Party, asserting that the Obidient movement’s broad base of support ensures its relevance in shaping Nigerian politics.

According to Ikenna Azomchine, “I laugh when you say Abure is asking us to play by the rules. Abure is a product of Obi’s emergence. I know him well; we came together to push for Obi’s agenda, and he climbed the ladder we built. Abure should understand that Obi is a man destined for power. The Obidient Network has members in APC, PDP, LP, and all levels of life. We will grow and make a significant impact in any party. All we’re asking of the Labour Party is a fair and transparent convention.”
