Adejobi Muyiwa, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, has spoken about a group of suspects who were paraded after they were caught using fake bank alerts to defraud people.

In a video shared by TVC, Muyiwa said that the suspects have been operating in Abuja, and when they make transfers, the victims receive what looks like a real bank alert, but it is completely fake. He described it as an “original fake alert” that looks convincing enough to deceive unsuspecting people.

Adejobi explained that this fraudulent activity happens in many cities across the country. He urged people to be cautious.

In Adejobi’s words: “Abuja people you have seen them, when they transfer money to you, you will have accurate alert but it is fake. Original fake alert. They have been operating in Abuja and I know it is not only Abuja, they do this in most of our cities across the country”
