Ajuri Ngelale, the spokesperson of President Tinubu, has spoken after the Minister of Information stated that Daily Trust Newspaper would be sued for making false accusations against the federal government. He said this decision aligns with the rule of law and respects media freedom

In a video shared by TVC from 7:59, Ngelale highlighted a past incident where a former Nigerian president demolished a media station with bulldozers for making publications that did not align with his views. He said President Tinubu’s administration is taking a legal approach, in line with the rule of law, by suing the newspaper instead of resorting to such drastic actions

In Ngelale’s words: “A sitting president took tractors and bulldozers and literally knocked down a media station that was giving information or opinion in a way that was not in line with that president’s own view. Those are draconian steps that would be taken by a government that is not abiding by the principles of media freedom or freedom of expression. I think what the Minister of Information has described is a process that is very much in line with the rule of law”…..Seë _ Morë
