In a fiery and passionate speech delivered at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory stirred attention with bold statements during the 2025 Distinguished Personality Lecture titled “The Nigeria of our Dreams.”

In a video published by ESET on YouTube, the Minister showered praises on the current President, highlighting his leadership vision and keen ability to recognize and appoint capable individuals. Speaking to a packed audience, the Minister said: “We have provided the right leadership and see what he is doing. In fact, the ability to identify people who can deliver shows you have the capacity.”

He didn’t stop there. Using the moment to address critics—particularly a known political figure who reportedly questioned the President’s leadership—he responded sharply. “There are people who don’t know those who will work. I heard somebody said the other day that he told Tinubu, ‘I won’t support you, you have no capacity.’ A president who identified me and you said he has no capacity — something must be wrong with you.”

His remarks drew strong reactions from the crowd, as he passionately defended the President’s track record and judgment. “I don’t care to know about the person, I don’t want to know about him,” he added, brushing off any attempt to downplay the President’s achievements or his own role in the administration.

The lecture, filled with political undertones and fiery rhetoric, has since gone viral, with many Nigerians weighing in on social media.
