Former Labour Party, LP, chieftain, Doyin Okupe has reacted after some minors recently slumped during their trial at the High Court in Abuja.
His reaction was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday.
His statement is coming after the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, ordered the police to transfer the case file to his office.
According to DAILY POST, Lateef Fagbemi said;
“I have, however, directed the Nigeria Police to transfer the casefile to my office and hand over the same to the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF)”.
Reacting to the report, Doyin Okupe appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for instructing Lateef Fagbemi to intervene in the matter. He said one question that bothers him is the whereabouts of the parents of the minors.
Here is what Doyin Okupe wrote on his page;
“Thank God President Tinubu has instructed that the AGF intervenes.
“One pertinent question that bothers me is this; where are their parents? Why were they not in court? Any system that allows this is a recipe for disaster”.
