Jake Epelle, the CEO of TAF Africa has spoken about the political conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and former Governor Nyesom Wike, the current FCT Minister.
In a live coverage by Silverbird TV from 13:07, Epelle alleged that Fubara was under Wike’s control when they had a good relationship. He said before taking any decision, Fubara often had to consult Wike in Abuja for approval. Epelle said that Fubara was like a “houseboy” to Wike.
Epelle added that Wike player a significant role in helping Fubara secure the governorship but this should not mean that Fubara should remain under Wike’s control. He emphasized that Fubara should have the freedom to govern independently.
In Epelle’s words: “Fubara was like a houseboy throughout the time that they had so-called peace. He was virtually a stooge, he was virtually a puppet. He was a governor without powers. Before taking any decision he had to call Abuja to get approval. So there is no way that kind of structure will work”.
