Former President Goodluck Jonathan recently praised General Yakubu Gowon for his dedication to peace and unity in Nigeria, even after his time as a military Head of State.

In a video shared by NTA from 23:02, Jonathan highlighted how Gowon, after leaving the army and setting aside his weapons, turned to a life of service through his faith. He said Gowon chose to focus on advocating for national unity and promoting peace across the country by using his non-governmental organization (NGO) as a platform to continue this mission.

Jonathan emphasized that Gowon’s commitment to ensuring peace in Nigeria didn’t stop with his military service but extended into his work for the country’s stability and harmony through peaceful means.
