All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed its plans to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election, a party leader has revealed, as reported by VANGUARD.

Speaking on Sunday at a forum hosted by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Okocha said the party’s strategy is to secure an easier path to victory in the upcoming election.

He explained that APC does not want opposition groups to unite, as seen during the 2023 election when the Labour Party gained significant support with Peter Obi as its candidate, according to him, the APC must act now to prevent a repeat of that outcome.

He also discussed the internal challenges APC faced in Rivers State and criticized former Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, who previously led the APC in the region, claiming that Amaechi had personalized control of the party in the state, which limited its effectiveness.

“We can’t allow them to be strong, we will not close our eyes and watch them become united and come again with their force like the Labour Party did with Peter Obi, its presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election,” he said.
