One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after the Tunisian Pilot who flew the Super Eagles players to Libya said the plane was diverted.
According to THE CABLE, the pilot said they were supposed to land at Benghazi but Libyan authorities diverted the plane to Al-Abraq which is 150 miles away.
He was quoted as that;
“The flight plan was to land at Benghazi, Benina, and we had the approval from the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority to do so. However, when we began our descent, they instructed us to divert to Al-Abraq, which is almost 150 miles away, around 300 kilometres east. It wasn’t even (listed as) our alternate airport, something which is not good”.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, he said the Libyan authorities didn’t even consider whether the plane has enough fuel or not.
Here is what Shehu Sani wrote on his page;
“Imagine a pilot being diverted to another Airport without minding whether the plane has enough fuel or not. That is the Libyan issue”.
