A member of the house of representatives and renowned human rights activist, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere recently reacted after the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike sought exparte order from the federal high court to stop the panel that was set up to probe the burning of local government secretariats in Rivers State. This came after the recent political tension that rocked the state in the aftermath of the local government elections.
Political tension erupted in Rivers State after the conclusion of the local government elections that garnered widespread attention from different quarters. The tension which escalated to the burning of local government secretariats prompted the state government to constitute a panel to probe those behind the dastardly act.
In light of this, the former governor of the state and current minister of the federal capital, Nyesom Wike sought exparte orders from the federal high court, Abuja to stop the panel from probing the burning of the said secretariats. This prompted widespread mixed reactions from the general public, including a renowned human rights activist and member of the house of representatives, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere.
In the statements which he shared on his official social media handle, X he lamented that the panel constituted to probe the burning have not yet started sitting, but the former governor is already at the federal high court seeking exparte orders to stop them from carrying out their duties.

“The panel constituted to look into the treasonable act of burning of LG HQRS have not yet started sitting but Wike is already running to the federal high court to in search of exparte order to stop the panel that is mandated to find the criminals who comments those evil acts from sitting. Is Wike hiding something?”.
