One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after the Kaduna state government denied borrowing the sum of N36 billion.
His reaction is coming after DAILY POST reported that the Kaduna State government has debunked reports that it borrowed N36 billion in the past six months. The report further stated that the state government has clarified that it is actually paying nearly three times the size of loans taken by the past administration due to the massive devaluation of the Naira.
Reacting to the report, Senator Shehu Sani stated that the report is not true. The former Kaduna lawmaker said that it is unimaginable for the state to borrow such amount of money when it has to pay N4.7 billion monthly to settle its inherited debt.
Here is what Shehu Sani wrote on his official page;
“The report that Kaduna State Government borrowed another N36 billion is not true. It is unimaginable for the state to borrow such amount of money when it has to pay N4.7 billion monthly to settle its inherited debt. Kaduna is the second most indebted state after Lagos”.
