According to a video that was posted on the official X account of Channels TV on Friday FROM 3.58, the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has stated that he does no longer understand the relationship between the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike.

Sim Fubara stated that the relationship between the IGP and FCT Minister is beginning to go beyond the normal professional relationship.

He made the statement after police attempted to takeover the premises of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

According to Siminalayi Fubara;

“We have been taking enough nonsense from this institution. Everybody is aware about the court’s judgment. The ruling did not specify anywhere that election should not hold. The ruling says don’t give voters register. The ruling says police should not provide security. Is it the same thing as blocking the election? I don’t know the relationship between the Inspector General of Police and one person who claims he has power in Rivers state because it is beginning to go beyond the normal professional relationship”.
