In a recent video on Channels Television from 5 minutes 30 seconds, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has delivered a sharp rebuke to the Nigerian police, accusing them of attempting to disrupt the state’s electoral process. In a passionate address, Fubara criticized the Inspector General of Police, calling their actions “wicked and fraudulent,” and stating that such conduct would not be tolerated in Rivers State.

“When it comes to the issue of Rivers State, it becomes different. You’re not ashamed of yourself; you call yourself the General of Police. Enough is enough!” the governor declared. Fubara’s strong words come amidst growing concerns over the police’s role in upcoming elections, with reports of possible interference fueling tensions.

According to him, “When it comes to the issue of River State, it becomes different. You’re not ashamed of yourself; you call yourself the General of Police. Enough is enough! I will be here. In fact, if I go back and I hear anybody, I will come here. This is my property, and you don’t have any power whatsoever to bar me from entering it. Just try it. Then that part of your history as a very wicked and fraudulent police will include shooting.”

“Yes, I think I’ve given enough respect. Well, let me say to all Rivers indigenes and everyone residing in Rivers State: elections will hold. Elections will hold! Anything that wants to happen, let it happen. I don’t understand why anyone should fear anybody. We are here. All other states did so, so everybody just relax. Nothing is happening. Nothing! We are ready. Can we do this? If this is going to be the last fight, we will take it to the end.”
