Sobomabo Jackrich, the leader of the Simplicity Movement and a former loyal supporter of ex-Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has spoken about the ongoing political discord between Wike and current Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Jackrich expressed his view that Governor Fubara is adopting a different leadership approach from his predecessor and remains committed to maintaining peace and stability in the state.

In a video posted by Symfoni TV on their YouTube channel from 5:04, Jackrich praised Governor Fubara for his calm and collected leadership style, contrasting it with Wike’s more confrontational methods.

According to him, Fubara’s approach is geared toward avoiding the kind of volatile political atmosphere that had previously characterised Rivers State under Wike.

Jackrich pointed out that Fubara’s leadership is rooted in a desire to maintain peace and ensure stability in the state rather than follow Wike’s footsteps, which were often marked by political tension and forceful measures.

Jackrich also implied that Wike’s influence might have led Fubara down a more aggressive political path, but Fubara consciously chose to prioritise peace.

He emphasised that Fubara is not interested in replicating the controversial aspects of Wike’s administration, which often stirred up conflict and division in the state.

He highlighted that if Fubara had decided to employ the same political strategies as Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would likely not feel comfortable returning to Rivers State.

Jackrich said, “Fubara doesn’t want to do what you did; otherwise, by now you won’t be able to come to Rivers from Abuja again.

“Are these not the people who made Amaechi afraid to enter Rivers State? Are they not the ones who destroyed people’s structures?”
