Ikenga Ugochinyere, a federal lawmaker and member of the PDP, has expressed concerns about the conflict between Governor Sim Fubara and loyalists of former Governor Nyesom Wike over the upcoming Rivers LGA elections.

In a live coverage by Arise TV from 17:24, Ugochinyere said Nyesom Wike and his loyalists are allegedly attempting to leverage their close relationship with President Tinubu to oust Governor Sim Fubara from office. He said some Wike loyalists have taken legal steps to prevent the LGA elections from taking place, even though they signed a peace accord at the presidential villa where it was agreed that local government elections should be conducted in Rivers.

In Ugochinyere’s words: “They want to keep dropping the name of President Tinubu so that they can continue to use it to attempt the impossible which is to sack Fubara from office. If not, how can you sign a peace accord with the president that election must be held and now they want to hold the election you go to court”
