Martins Amaewhule has reacted after a suit seeking the removal of him and 26 other members of the Rivers State House of Assembly was dismissed by a court in Abuja. The court’s decision confirmed that these lawmakers had not defected from their party, the PDP, contrary to claims.

In a live coverage by Symfoni TV from 1:46, Amaewhule said he and the 26 other lawmakers never switched to another political party. He said they were elected under the PDP and remained loyal to the party. He also said the attempts to remove them from office are driven by Governor Sim Fubara.

In Amaewhule’s words: “27 of us in the Rivers House of Assembly (HoA) never defected to any other party. We never took any step to defect to any other party. What you see are mere plans by Governor Fubara to remove us from office”.
