The Peoples Democratic Party Acting Chairman, Umar Damagum has alleged that the PDP won in Yobe and Borno State in the 2023 Election but INEC couldn’t announce the results for about three days. He claimed that the results were altered as he questioned the sudden rush to announce the results in the early hours of the morning, suggesting that something was amiss.
He pointed out the discrepancy between the results announced by INEC and the data in the iRev system, which is a significant issue that still needs to be addressed. He reiterated that the credibility of the electoral process in Nigeria is at stake and it is essential that the issues are addressed to maintain trust in the system.
He said in an interview with Daily Trust, “We won for the first time in the North-east. We won in Yobe and Borno but INEC couldn’t announce the results for 3 days. They changed the results. Why else would they be in such a hurry to announce results in the early hours of the morning?
The results didn’t match what was in the iRev system. At one point, they even said the system had collapsed. They still haven’t addressed the core issue, which is the credibility of the election’s most crucial organ.”….View_Morē
