In a video recently shared by TVC, Kashim Shettima the Vice President of Nigeria recalled a past event where his outfit caught the attention of many, including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Shettima said before he became the Vice President, he attended an NBA (Nigerian Bar Association) conference in Lagos, where his choice of outfit, made him go viral on social media. He said he noticed the famous Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie taking pictures of him wearing his “Mungo Park suit.”
Shettima also joked that he thought it would be the last time he would be invited to the NBA conference.
In Shettima’s words: “Before we won the election and got sworn into office, no thanks to the NBA conference in this same Lagos and this same venue I trended on the Internet for almost a month for wearing sneakers to NBA conference. I thought that would be the last time I will be invited or speak at your conference. However it is good to see that wearing sneakers or not is not a requisition to be at NBA events. I remember the famous Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was busy taking my pictures, you know I was wearing my Mungo Park suit”….Vïêw–Môrê
