A Member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Abdul Ningi has alleged that the PDP is a party that transcends beyond individual interests and personalities. He highlighted how former President Olusegun Obasanjo abandoned the party after being President for 8 years under the party and the party moved on.

He also stated how former President Goodluck Jonathan, as well as former Senate President and Vice President Atiku Abubakar all left the party at some point. He argued that the party’s existence and survival is not dependent on any single person. He pointed out that the current government recognizes the PDP’s potential to bring about positive change in the country.

He said in an interview with Arise TV From 8:02, “This party is beyond individuals personalizing it as their own party, this party is beyond the issue of Wike or Atiku. At a time PDP produced a President that left. Obasanjo left PDP after being President for 8 years, he didn’t speak about the party. Jonathan followed in that same footsteps, he was neither here nor there for a very long time.

The Former President of the Senate left, the former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar also left. Several governors also left but at the end of the day, they found out that the best organized party is the PDP. And the government of the day understands that we have what it takes to bring about positive change in the country. Nigerians are comparing what we have done between 1999 to 2015 to what they have done between 2015 till date.”
