On Wednesday, the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi took to his official X account to react to the killing of the Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Bawa by terrorists.
According to Peter Obi, the Emir was killed after the sum of N60 million ransom that was demanded by his abductors was not met.
Peter Obi said that the incident highlights once again the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. The former governor of Anambra state urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to address the growing menace.
According to Peter Obi;
“I received with deep shock and sadness, the news of the brutal murder of the Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Bawa, who was kidnapped and killed by bandits after a ₦60 million ransom demand was not met. This incident highlights once again the escalating insecurity in Nigeria where even a revered figure like the Emir can be subjected to such treatment”….Vìêw–Morê
