In a recent development, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Anthony Ibezi, a prominent figure within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has commended President Bola Tinubu for signing into law the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
According to him, this move is seen as a crucial step towards fulfilling General Yakubu Gowon’s promise of reconciliation, reconstruction, and rehabilitation made over fifty years ago in the aftermath of the Nigeria civil war.
According to Vanguard, Anthony said, “More than fifty years after the Nigeria civil war, General Yakubu Gowon’s promise of “reconciliation, reconstruction and rehabilitation” is yet to be fully fulfilled. With SEDC, President Tinubu is about to fulfil Gowon’s promise. I have already commended President Tinubu for his courage and statesmanship in signing the SEDC law.”
Hon. Ibezi expressed his appreciation for President Tinubu’s courage and statesmanship in enacting the SEDC law, emphasizing the potential transformative impact it could have on the South East region.
