According to the Guardian Nigeria, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed significant disappointment regarding the appointment of an individual from Abia State to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet. According to ACF Chairman Musa Saidu, this decision has intensified feelings of frustration among people from Northern Nigeria. He highlighted that the lack of representation for Northerners in these recent appointments perpetuates a perception of bias within the Fubara administration.
Saidu emphasized that the exclusion serves as a poignant reminder of the long-standing marginalization that Northerners have experienced under previous administrations. He stressed the importance of dialogue, urging Governor Fubara to connect with legitimate Northern leaders to ensure their concerns are acknowledged and addressed.
In a statement reported by Guardian Nigeria, Saidu elaborated, saying, “We are disappointed that Northerners were not represented in the recent appointment of commissioners by Governor Sim Fubara. An Igbo man from Abia State was appointed, while Northerners were sidelined despite their significant contributions to the state. The current administration appears to be ‘entirely partial’ against Northerners. This situation could foster division within the community, and we strongly encourage the governor to engage with Northern leaders to resolve these grievances.”
