the FCT division of the Nigeria Police Force took to Its official X account to debunk a viral message alleging that FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike told FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh to cause mayhem during protest.
Part of the viral message;
“Wike had a meeting with my boss, the CP of FCT. He is not happy that after all he did, protesters still came out. He has told the CP to be on the street today to cause mayhem”.
Addressing the message, the FCT Police said the allegation is false and mischievous. The police stressed that the primary assignment of the commissioner is to protect lives and property.
“Consequent on the above, the command wishes to debunk the allegation, labelling it as false, mischievous, and misleading. It is important to note that the primary assignment of the Commissioner of Police is to protect lives and property, and he has been doing so in line with the extant laws”….Sêe_Morē
