In a candid interview on Channels TV, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Joe Igbokwe addressed claims that the EndSARS Protest lacked designated leaders and maintained a peaceful atmosphere until the spread of misinformation about alleged deaths incited violence and destruction.

He recounted his personal experience of family members being emotionally distressed by false reports of high casualty numbers.

Despite these claims, he noted that no individuals came forward to confirm the loss of loved ones during the protests, casting doubt on the validity of the reported fatalities and attributing the ensuing chaos to the influence of fake news.

He said, “They said there were no leaders that you can talk to, it was peaceful, for how many days? What pushed the destruction that we saw was fake news, that people were killed. My children were at home and they were crying, they were saying 80 people, 90 people. Nobody was killed. People will come out, but nobody came up to say my son was killed or my daughter was killed.”….Sêe_Morē
