The Nigerian police have detained 50-year-old herbalist Kehinde Ganiyu in connection with the death of his buddy Emmanuel Collins, allegedly with the intention of performing a money ritual. This information was reported by Sahara reporters. The terrible event happened in the Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun State on Thursday in the village of Oba-Oke. Collins was on his sick bed when Ganiyu allegedly killed him.

Osun State Police Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola gave an update on the case during a press conference on Friday. She claimed that Ganiyu cut his friend’s throat in order to create ritual soap that would be used by online scammers, sometimes known as “Yahoo boys.” On July 18, 2024, the murder of a 35-year-old Ghanaian man was reported to the police by the Divisional Police Officer of the Oke-Odo Division in Osogbo.

Police detectives used their obtained information to act quickly, which resulted in Ganiyu’s arrest. Opalola claims that after Ganiyu was arrested, he admitted to the crime. Four blood-stained knives, a jug of black soap, a wooden box, two sponges, a traditional divination tray called “Opon Ifa,” and other local charms were among the many objects the police found at the scene. All of these items were thought to have been used in the ritual.

During a Friday, July 26, interview, Ganiyu confessed to the murder and described how he made the ritual soap by cutting his friend’s throat. He talked about his dual vocations as a farmer and a herbalist, disclosing that he conducted ceremonies for people engaged in online fraud. These people, according to Ganiyu, supplied the human parts he needed for his ceremonies.

The horrific nature of ritual killings connected to online fraud in the area has come to light as a result of the arrest and confession. The breadth of Ganiyu’s activities and any possible links to other crimes of a similar kind are still being looked into by the authorities.

The suspect said: “I am a herbalist and farmer. I used to perform rituals for individuals involved in internet fraud, but they are the ones who bring human parts.”….Seë _Morë
