According to a video from 23:40 posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, spoke strongly against election malpractice while defending his position on reforms in Nigeria’s electoral process.

During the interview, Oshiomhole explained that his political experience shaped his commitment to transparent elections and credible democratic processes. He recalled his experience during the 2007 governorship election in Edo State, which he said was heavily manipulated against him before the courts later overturned the outcome.

Speaking on the Electoral Act and the use of technology during elections, the former Edo State governor argued that electronic transmission and the use of BVAS devices should be supported with reliable infrastructure to avoid legal complications and technical failures during elections.
