‎In a recent statement via his official X account, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has claimed that many individuals who played roles in the case against Nnamdi Kanu are no longer free, stating that several of them have either died or ended up in prison after taking part in actions against the separatist leader.

‎”Malami and everyone who fought Nnamdi Kanu is either dead or in prison,” he wrote.

‎In his post, Sowore said the situation surrounding Kanu’s case shows what he believes is a pattern among those who opposed the IPOB leader, according to him, people who strongly pushed for Kanu’s prosecution or fought against his movement have faced serious personal consequences over time.

‎He mentioned Abubakar Malami, who served as the country’s chief law officer during part of the legal process involving Kanu, he said some of the officials who were deeply involved in the legal actions against Kanu are no longer in positions of influence and have faced different outcomes.

‎Sowore explained that the controversy around Kanu’s detention and trial has remained one of the most debated political issues in Nigeria, he said the developments surrounding the people involved in the case have continued to attract public attention and discussion across the country.

‎Speaking further, Sowore linked the situation to the wider political tensions connected with the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra, he said the conflict between the group and the Nigerian authorities has shaped many events in recent years.

‎Sowore pointed to the reactions from supporters of the IPOB leader, he said many followers believe the events surrounding those who opposed Kanu show that the struggle around the Biafra agitation has taken different turns since the legal battles began.

‎He added that the conversation about Kanu’s case remains active among Nigerians both online and offline, according to him, discussions about the matter continue to grow as people examine the political and legal consequences connected to the issue.
