The Sarkin Dawakin Babba of Kano, Aminu Baba Danagundi has alleged that the deposed Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero’s mother was a princess from Ilorin, further cementing his royal heritage, as her father and grandfather were also emirs of Ilorin.

He stated that Aminu Ado Bayero inherited his position from his father, who ruled for over 60 years. He asserted that the appointment of Emir Sanusi was fundamentally flawed due to the hereditary nature of the Kano emirship. He argued that his appointment marked unprecedented deviation, as he was the first emir whose father had never held the title.

He said in an interview with Arise TV From 7:06, ”The appointment or Emir Sanusi In the first place was not right because you inherit the emirship of Kano. The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero’s father was the Emir of Kano for over 60 years. His father, his grandfather, and his great grandfather has been the Emir of Kano. Ado Bayero’s mother was a princess from Ilorin and her father and grandfather was the emir of Ilorin.
