The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted to the defection of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. The cleric released a video on his Facebook page on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, declaring that the political shift aligned with a prophecy he issued earlier in the year.
In the Facebook post, Ayodele wrote: “Just as foretold, the switch of Fubara from PDP to APC was foretold since May 10, 2025.” He accompanied the statement with a clip of his May prophecy, insisting that the governor’s move had long been predicted.
The video played during his broadcast contained earlier remarks in which Ayodele stated: “I said this earlier before now, that Fubara will join APC. Sincerely, Fubara will join APC. Not this day and now.” He added: “In as much as Wike is still in Rivers state, Fubara will join APC. This is, when he join APC, things, the strategy will change. The focus will change.” Ayodele continued: “And however, many things are going to come around it. So we have taken that decision today since we got in the past.”

Ayodele’s reaction followed Governor Fubara’s announcement at a stakeholders’ meeting earlier in the day, where he formally declared his movement to the APC. The governor’s message was also played in the cleric’s video. In his speech, Fubara said: “Everyone here who havefollowed me, who have suffered with me, our decision today, this evening, we are moving to APC.” The governor continued with a chant shared by his supporters, saying:“On your mandate, we shall stand. On your mandate, on your mandate, on your mandate, we shall stand. On your mandate, we shall stand.” View, More,
