Victor Fajemirokun, who was presented by police as the man who was in a relationship with the late FRSC officer, Lasisi Funmilayo — has reportedly told investigators that he brought Funmilayo and her daughter from Ogun State to Osun State because he believed he needed spiritual intervention.

As reported by The Punch, the 40-year-old was paraded alongside two traditionalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo.

Police sources said Fajemirokun claimed he had been influenced by the words of a Muslim cleric who insisted that Funmilayo was spiritually undermining him and hindering his progress. He further recounted that he had contacted Daramola; whom he met on TikTok; for spiritual guidance, and that, after a consultation, he was told that Funmilayo needed to be brought for a cleansing ritual.

Fajemirokun admitted that he told his wife he was travelling for prayers in Ikoyi, Osun State, and later invited Funmilayo to Ijebu-Jesha under the guise of seeking spiritual help. Funmilayo, a 39-year-old senior FRSC officer, and her daughter, Sewa, had been declared missing after leaving their home in the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate area of Abeokuta on November 2.

Their bodies were later recovered at a location police described as a ritualists’ hideout in Osun State, showing signs of mutilation. The police said investigations are ongoing and all three suspects remain detained.

The incident has drawn widespread attention due to the nature of the killings and the status of the victims.

Providing further details, Fajemirokun said the herbalist instructed Funmilayo to undergo certain rituals and directed three men to lead her into the bush for the process. According to him, it was in that remote area that she was killed, with her daughter present.

He added that he fled afterwards, spending time on a hill in Ikoyi before making his way to Ibadan. He claimed he felt mentally overwhelmed at the time and suggested he was not fully in control of his actions, saying he never truly intended for events to unfold the way they did.

Further talking, he said, “So, when we got there, I knew that they were going to kill her. But, I never knew they harvested their organs. I only heard that on the news, and that was when I decided to come back home.” View, More,
