Daily Post reported that on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the National President of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Baba Ngelzarma, stated that insurgent attacks in Nigeria have claimed more Muslim lives than Christian ones.
Ngelzarma acknowledged the presence of genocide in the country while speaking on the issue.
During an interview with Nigeria Info FM 99.3, the MACBAN national chairman stressed that any herder found carrying dangerous weapons like AK-47 rifles should be regarded as a criminal.
He said, “This issue of genocide yes, there is genocide, but genocide against whom?”
He noted that there was a period when the media insisted that cattle rearing was merely a private enterprise and that herders should independently handle their livestock.
According to him, such arguments overlook the fact that even aviation is a private business, yet the government still provides airports for flights.
Ngelzarma emphasised that the public must understand that whenever they encounter a group of pastoralists armed with weapons such as AK-47s, those individuals are not legitimate herders but criminals with dangerous intentions. View, More,
