The former governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki has reacted to the statement that was made by the current governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okphebolo.
The reaction of the former governor of Edo state was contained in a report that was posted on the official X account of THE CABLE on Monday, December 1, 2025.
In the report that surfaced online, Monday Okphebolo stated that Godwin Obaseki can not come to Edo state because he didn’t perform well.
Here is what he said;
“He can’t come to Edo. His poor record will not make him come. When children can stand to pray for me, no child will stand on the street to pray for Obaseki. No mother on the street will pray for Obaseki”.
Reacting, Godwin Obaseki stated that Monday Okphebolo has been threatening him since he left office. He said he will fight back.
Here is what Godwin Obaseki said;
“They have been threatening violence. So if I respond, nobody should hold me responsible. I can’t leave myself empty to be hurt and attacked by deranged people.
“So I am going to fight back. I will fight back. I didn’t start the fight. They are afraid. They know they did not win the election”. View, More,
